Even during times of historically high prices, millions of coffee farmers are not covering their cost of production, with most of them earning less than 5% of the price of a cup. Prices that ignore the real cost of production perpetuate poverty and threaten the diversity of specialty coffee.
The solution:
Using farmer-donated data, the Guide displays the true cost of production across different regions, and equips the specialty coffee industry with a practical tool to determine sustainable prices.
Over 2,000 farmers in Colombia and Mexico have already benefited from the Guide's pricing recommendations.
